Dogs and cats, and pets in general, are a very important part of most everyone's family. While dogs have long gotten a higher end of the pet industry market, their feline counterparts are now seeing a surge in attention with cat beds and accessories drawing more attention as we learn more and more about their desires in health and comfort. Cats like to snuggle and most will find a spot next to their owner whenever possible. But, they also like their own beds for those daytime naps. Round, open top beds make wonderful spots for this, next to a window where the sunlight comes in. Some cats also like to get under the covers and the sleeping bag style bed is great for one with this type of personality. Small and large beds are available to accommodate any size cat, and multiple family members, as well. While toys to toss and carry around the house, like those depicting mice and balls, remain popular, interactive toys for the humans to enjoy playtime with their feline family member are big sellers now. They resemble fishing poles, but the lure is made attractive to cats; the pole end is for the human. Look for the ball that stays within its own track for hours of cat fun and also the toys that hang from doors and doorways, for your cats to jump and attack. Other accessories for felines and their owners include filtered watering systems that have a continuous recycling flow. Many cats love to drink fresh out of the tap and this is one alternative. Self-feeders are available for those watching their figures and on a limited diet. Instead of free-feeding and leaving limitless food in the bowl, these feeders will allow only a limited amount of food to be offered on daily or twice-a-day intervals. Cat-specific combs and brushes are available, designed to properly comb out feline hair. Daily or semi-daily combing help elevate hairballs and prevents matting. Inexpensive flea combs are useful in determining if there are fleas requiring further treatment for your cat. Once thought self-sufficient, cats do have additional needs that we can provide them with for a comfortable life. Cat beds and accessories go a long way in helping provide a long and healthy one. While cats can spend a few days by themselves, there is little doubt that for most, they want the continued companionship of their human family as well as their own creature comforts. |
