What makes this design unique is the 18" round circular perches that can comfortably accommodate the largest of household cats and of course provide a little extra space for those two cats that just like to cuddle. These perches are 19" wide at the exterior and 17.5 measured by the interior and also have a lip to keep kitty secure and safe inside the perches as they sleep the night away. They are staggered from one level to another allowing easy access for those less agile cats. Proudly designed and built in the USA with quality materials such as wood, household carpet and thick natural sisal rope. Very happy with this cat tree. I have two c. 20 lb. cats and they fit perfectly. There is a wide base and they can jump up and down without wobbling - a problem I've had before. So It's sturdy. The upper units just screw in. and assembly took minutes. I bought some catnip spray to encourage them but it wasn't needed. I purchased it on sale and I didn't ask about adding alternate sisal posts. If it is an option, I'd absolutely get them.

Our two cats warmed up to this new scratcher/ tree within two days. They have several trees, very well used. It is a quality tree.

My big cats love the size of the super large beds. Also some of my cats now actually hang in the same bed too. That didn’t happen much with our old tree.
