Description

Spiral Cat Tree with Steps for Senior Cats, Kittens & Easy Climbing

Give your cat a safer, easier way to climb, play, and relax with this handcrafted spiral cat tree featuring gradual carpeted steps instead of large jumps. Designed for senior cats, kittens, and cats that prefer easy climbing, this unique stair-step cat tower provides elevated lounging while helping reduce the effort required to reach higher levels.

Built with a solid wood frame and covered in premium household-grade carpet, this compact cat tower delivers the stability, durability, and comfort New Cat Condos is known for. Whether your cat is aging gracefully, recovering confidence after an injury, or simply enjoys climbing one step at a time, this tower provides a comfortable path to the top.

Easy Climbing Cat Tree with Stairs Instead of Large Jumps

Unlike traditional cat trees that require cats to leap between platforms, this spiral staircase design creates a gentle climbing path using closely spaced carpeted steps.

This makes the tower especially popular for:

  • Senior cats
  • Kittens learning to climb
  • Smaller breeds
  • Cats that prefer gradual climbing
  • Multi-cat homes with cats of different ages

The gradual design encourages movement while placing less strain on joints than taller jumping platforms.

Excellent Cat Tree for Senior Cats

Older cats often still enjoy climbing and elevated resting spots—they simply need an easier way to reach them.

The stair-step layout allows senior cats to maintain access to vertical territory while reducing the need for large jumps that can become difficult with age. Every step provides a comfortable resting point, allowing cats to climb at their own pace.

If you're searching for a cat tree with steps for senior cats or a senior cat tower, this design was built specifically for those needs.

Spiral Staircase Design Encourages Natural Climbing

The unique spiral layout gives cats an engaging climbing experience while maintaining a compact footprint.

Rather than climbing straight upward, cats naturally move around the tower one level at a time, creating an enjoyable path to the elevated perch while promoting exercise, confidence, and exploration.

Solid Wood Construction for Long-Term Stability

Like every New Cat Condos product, this climbing tower is handcrafted using solid wood instead of particle board.

The sturdy frame provides dependable stability during everyday climbing while the premium household-grade carpet creates a soft, secure surface for paws on every step.

Features include:

  • Solid wood construction
  • Household-grade carpet
  • Stable, balanced design
  • Comfortable top lounging perch
  • Handcrafted in the USA

Elevated Top Perch for Relaxing & Bird Watching

After climbing to the top, cats are rewarded with a comfortable elevated perch where they can relax, groom, nap, or watch activity throughout the home.

Many cats naturally seek higher resting places, and this tower allows them to enjoy that instinct without requiring difficult jumps.

Compact Cat Tree for Apartments & Smaller Rooms

Although this tower provides multiple climbing levels, its spiral design occupies very little floor space.

It's an excellent choice for:

  • Apartments
  • Condos
  • Bedrooms
  • Home offices
  • Smaller living spaces

Cats receive valuable vertical enrichment without requiring the footprint of a much larger cat tree.

Why Cat Owners Choose This Spiral Cat Tree

  • Gradual stair-step design for easier climbing
  • Excellent for senior cats and kittens
  • Solid wood construction for superior stability
  • Plush household-grade carpet throughout
  • Elevated lounging perch
  • Compact footprint for smaller homes
  • Handcrafted in the USA

Best For

  • Senior cats
  • Cats that don't like jumping
  • Kittens learning to climb
  • Smaller cats
  • Apartments and condos
  • Homes looking for a compact climbing tower

FAQ'S

Is this better than a traditional cat tree for older cats?

For many senior cats, yes. Traditional cat trees often require large jumps between platforms. This spiral cat tree uses gradual carpeted steps that allow older cats to reach elevated resting areas with greater confidence and less strain.

    Step tree for senior cats

    Published by Margaret Loftus

it is great!! When it came I thought oh no it is not big enough, etc. My senior boy is a longhair Birman and a great jumper all his life. But now at about 15 the large leaps to window not so easy. He is totally on it every day sitting on ledges or at top or running up and down tree to window. It is sturdy. Will buy again.

My cat loves her Cat Condo. She got right up on the top level and took a nap. Just the right height. Easy to assemble. Very sturdy. Highly recommend.

    Cat condo/perch

    Published by Clare P

This has been great for my senior cat. Any cat would love the top round perch. It is large enough 16” for her to stretch out some. I tried another condo first and she refused to use it. She likes the carpet vs plush material. I like it for the solid construction and ease of putting it together. It is also easy for her to climb.

    All cats like it

    Published by Alisha

I bought this 3 years ago for my oldest cat, who has trouble jumping. I actually have 4 cats and they all took to it and take turns sleeping in the top. I agree with one reviewer who said the carpet is shredding and the fibers are coming out but this thing gets regular scratching and so I just view it as normal wear and tear. The stairs are the perfect height and my old girl uses it to get up on my desk every day. After 3 years, it still works great. I would purchase this again especially because there aren't a lot of spiral stair options in cat trees that aren't garbage.

    Stair cat condo

    Published by Shirl Ruffin

This condo is perfect for my tripod. Stair climbing is good for her legs and she likes the perch. I wished they used the longest pole for sisal so my long bodied kitty could really scratch. I will have to buy her a taller scratch post.

    Perch review

    Published by Chris Lammert

I am fairly satisfied with it. There does seem to be quite a bit of the thin nylon strings coming out and my 2 boys do scratch like crazy - carpet frays come off a lot also. Not sure how long this will last.
